Dust off that helmet and find your favorite pair of sunglasses: it’s time to trade the morning commute for a coastal cruise!

In honor of National Bike Month, SANDAG is bringing back the legendary Bike Anywhere Day on Thursday, May 21. For over 30 years, San Diegans have been ditching their car keys to help clear the air, skip the traffic, and get those legs moving. Whether you’re heading to the office, rolling to class, or just biking to get a taco, this day is for you!

The Details

  • The Date: Thursday, May 21, 2026
  • The Time: 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
  • The Cost: $0.00. (Yep, totally free!)

Why You Should Join the Party

Besides the "good vibes only" atmosphere of thousands of cyclists hitting the streets, there is some serious loot involved:

  • Free Swag: There are 100 pit stops scattered across San Diego. Stop by one to snag a free, commemorative 2026 t-shirt to prove you were part of the movement (while supplies last!).
  • The Big Prize: This year, just by registering, you’re automatically entered into the Bike Anywhere Day Sweepstakes. We’re talking about a chance to win one of five brand-new ebikes courtesy of Ridepanda. Imagine tackling those San Diego hills without breaking a sweat!

Roll Thru Our Pacific Beach Pitstop!

Cruising through PB? We’ve got you covered. Make sure to stop into our pitstop at the Pacific Beach store on your way! We’ll be right there in the heart of the action, cheering you on as you pedal past. Whether you need a quick breather, a high-five, or want to check out the local bike scene, we’d love to see your ride. There’s nothing quite like that Pacific Beach morning air to wake you up better than a double espresso.

How to Get Involved

  1. Sign Up: Head over to the SANDAG website to register (and get that sweepstakes entry!). Click here, a new window will open.
  2. Pump Those Tires: Give your bike a little TLC before the big day. Need help getting ready? Our service department offers free bike inspections.
  3. Pedal On: See you on the road between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. on May 21!

Let’s show the rest of the world how San Diego does a "rush hour." We hope to see you at the PB store!
