The bike ships as a Class 1 e-bike (pedal-assist up to 20 mph), making it legal on most mountain bike trails. However, if you’re using it for the road, you can easily unlock it to Class 3 (up to 28 mph) via the Aventon app, making it a legitimate car-replacement candidate.
