Mark from GIANT Bikes breaks down the Reign 29er 2 (2020) Mountain Bike

The GIANT Reign 29er has hit the market hard this season, and everyone from enduro veterans to weekend trail riders can appreciate the high quality craftsmanship and ride quality the Reign 29er will provide. Steep drops, blind lines, chunky singletrack littered with roots and rocks. This fierce full-suspension 29er helps you tame the wildest enduro terrain with smooth suspension and confident handling. The 2020 model sees some great improvements including flashier paint jobs, more aggressive geometry, and running exclusively 29" wheels give the Reign 2020 not only a new look, but a new feel.

MOUNTAIN BIKER CORNERS A SANDY TURN

From laps at the bike park to weekend trail sessions with friends, the 2020 Reign 29er is ready to provide power on the climbs, control in the technical, and confidence on the descent. The bike is available in both the lightweight, strong and dependable ALUXX SL alloy as well as the GIANT carbon composite framesets. The progressive change in geometry is aimed at maximizing the effectiveness of the 29" wheels, as well as putting the weight lower and in the center. Maestro suspension continues to provide maximum control with 146mm of smooth, active rear travel and a Advanced Forged Composite rocker arm on all models, even the aluminum! When it comes to building the ultimate enduro machine, the Giant Factory Off-Road Team was involved in the development of the 2020 Reign. These riders are out there pushing the limits of their bodies and bikes. This bike is for them—and for everyone else who loves to charge hard.

Featured Technology

ALUXX SL Aluminum Technology

This High-Performance level, state-of-the-art aluminum material is made predominantly from 6011 alloy and delivers best-in-class strength-to-weight ratios. These framesets also feature unique welding technologies for a high-performance ride quality.

Advanced Forged Composite Technology

A state-of-the-art high-pressure molding process is used to produce complex-shaped carbon fiber components that are lighter, stiffer and stronger than similar components made from aluminum. This technology is used in critical performance parts such as Maestro Suspension rocker links.

Maestro Suspension Technology

Four strategically positioned pivot points and two linkages all work together to create a single floating pivot for the most active, efficient and independent suspension system on the trail.

OverDrive

Giant’s original oversized fork steerer tube technology. Designed to provide precise front-end steering performance, the system’s oversized headset bearings (1 1/4” lower and 1 1/8” upper for road, 1 1/2” lower and 1 1/8” upper for mountain) and tapered steerer tube work in conjunction to provide optimal steering stiffness.

Tubeless System

Fewer flat tires. Greater traction. Less rolling resistance and a smoother, faster ride. Giant’s Tubeless System makes it easier than ever to experience all these benefits.
