Juan's been working with us for about three years. Born and raised right here and riding the south bay area for over 15 years so he's an expert at the local trails.
What's your favorite bike to ride?
The Giant Trance Advanced 29er for sure.
Why 29er over 27.5"?
The stability on high speed and descents and how fast 29ers are. I think for the terrain around here and a lot of San Diego 29ers make sense. If you need a little more grip or are riding chunkier trails go for a 27.5".You'll get grip for days
You've got a little girl, do you two get out and ride much?
We try to ride around once a week. We usually go to The Strand of Montgomery-Waller Park. That has some pretty cool places for kids to ride. There's cement bike paths, grassy areas for mountain bikes, little hills, stuff like that.
What's one of your best tips for riding?
Definitely get yourself geared up for sure. You want to go out there and be prepared for anything that can happen. Make sure you've got your rider kit and your bike is dialed in as well.Â
