Two million bucks. Wow that's a lot of money. Especially when you consider the money is intended to feed kids. The Chefs Cycle movement is sweeping across America to raise money for the No Kid Hungry organization.
That money has been raised by 250 riders which means they each rider raised over $8000. That's impressive. Who better to make sure our Kids don't go hungry than professionals whose passion is food.
Childhood hunger effects13 million kids in the US. Three out of four teachers say that there students come to school hungry. One in six kids in America don’t get the food they need every day. These are sobering statistics. Ones that Chefs seem to find unacceptable.
This past May, Giant Bicycle tagged along with Chefs Cycle, as they culminated their fundraising efforts by riding three hundred miles in three days through Santa Rosa wine country. Even for seasoned cyclists, that’s an intimidating endeavor. And although the scenery was beautiful, these Chefs pushed themselves to deal with the elevation and distance of the event.
Every Chef riding was pushing themselves to their limits because they believed in what they were riding for. They used the tools at their disposal to help make the world a better place for millions of hungry kids that live right here in America.
