How to Choose the Right Bike Tires & Tubes
Your tires are the most important connection between your bike and the ground. Choosing the right bike tire or inner tube depends on your bike type and where you ride. This guide will help you find the perfect match for your setup.
Mountain Bike (MTB) Tires
Mountain bike tires are all about grip and durability. Look for wider tires (typically 2.2" to 2.6") with aggressive knob patterns designed for loose dirt, rocks, and roots. Many riders prefer a tubeless-ready (TR) setup to run lower pressures for better traction and avoid pinch flats.
E-Bike Tires
E-bikes are heavier and faster, requiring special tires. Look for "e-bike rated" or "e-bike ready" tires. These feature stronger casings to handle extra weight, enhanced puncture protection, and durable rubber compounds designed to last longer under the high torque of a motor.
Tubeless vs. Tubes
- Inner Tubes: The classic setup. Easy to install and fix on the trail. We carry a full range of sizes, including tough, thicker tubes for downhill mountain biking.
- Tubeless: The modern standard for most mountain and gravel bikes. This setup uses liquid sealant instead of a tube, allowing for lower tire pressures, better grip, and self-sealing of small punctures.

For riding on mixed surfaces or pavement, you'll want something different. Gravel tires balance low rolling resistance with just enough tread for dirt roads. Commuter tires prioritize puncture protection and all-weather performance.
